My journey with art has been life long. My mother was an artist, who didn't get back to painting until I was in High School. She had wanted to be an illustrator but the depression put an end to her plans. I was 8 or 9 when she sent me off to take painting lessons, bus money tied in a hanky.
What art has given me is the eyes to see so much of the wonder in this world, both large and small. I seem to be attracted to the close-up and the far away, a puppy's shining eyes or a distant landscape.
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
― Pablo Picasso
